Shannon Sharpe has become a force to be reckoned with when it comes to his sports and cultural commentary. And on Wednesday's episode of Undisputed, Sharpe had a few words about Phil Jackson referring to LeBron James and his business partner Maverick Carter as a "posse."

During the segment, Sharpe brought receipts to show that Jackson previously used the word "posse" with a negative connotation when he discussed James in his 2004 book. Jackson spoke about how James was too young to be playing in the NBA as a 19-year-old and how his "posse" could be mentally damaging.
Sharpe then spoke about how James' "posse" are all now successful businessmen; but of course, he says, that doesn't matter to Jackson.
Sharpe didn't come out and call Jackson a racist, but he did say that referring to James' friends and business associates as a posse would never happen if he were someone like Steve Kerr.
"For a long time, people have been calling the NBA a modern-day ‘slave auction.’ For Phil Jackson to call LeBron’s handlers a ‘posse’ shows that you can reach the highest level in the NBA, but you will still be seen under a different light than a Steve Kerr," Sharpe said.
