Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) is on edge over the rise of the Tea Party. In a CNN Political Ticker interview, Snowe expressed her concern that if Tea Party candidates continue to win, then Republicans will have less of a chance to gain the majority in the House or the Senate. She also stated that Republicans have been arguing about the same issues the Tea Party is arguing about, so it's nothing new. She gave the example of her party's abandonment of its principles of fiscal responsibility, which Snowe says she raised during the Bush administration. Perhaps Snowe and other moderate Republicans should have protested louder, because Tea Party members and candidates are not trying to hear it or stay with the GOP. If it's not hell, fire and damnation or taking back the country, whatever that means, then they don't seem to hear too much of anything.
