Honestly, there is no such thing as an apt vice president pick for Donald Trump.
The fact that the former president still has a shot at another term—despite all of his legal woes—is ridiculous. Trump’s supporters are some of the most loyal as they continue to bolster his quest for the White House.
During a Fox News town hall event Tuesday, host Laura Ingraham asked Trump about his possible choices for a running mate including Ron DeSantis, Vivek Ramaswamy, Byron Donalds, Kristi Noem, Tulsi Gabbard and Tim Scott.
When asked if they were on his list of potential picks, Trump responded: “They are. Honestly all of those people are good. They’re all good, they’re all solid.” Scott, however, garnered a shout out from the Republican frontrunner as he was present for the event.
Since dropping out of the Republican primary last year, Scott has vigorously endorsed and campaigned for Trump. All of his sucking up has paid off as Trump sang his praises at the town hall. “A lot of people are talking about that gentleman right over there,” Trump said as he pointed out Scott.
“He’s been such a great advocate. I have to say this in a very positive way, Tim Scott, he has been much better for me than he was for himself,” he continued. “I watched his campaign, and he doesn’t like talking about himself. But boy does he talk about Trump...I called him and I said, ‘Tim, you’re better for me than you were for yourself.’”
Though Trump may choose Scott, he believes that his second-in-command isn’t an important factor when it comes to voting for president. “One thing that always surprises me is that the VP choice has absolutely no impact, and it is whoever the president is,” Trump stated.
Despite implying that Scott could very well be his VP pick, Trump never officially confirmed who he will select.
