One has tried to go for Olympic gold medals in two different sports. Another seems to have a vendetta against the president. And unless tap or the “Jump on It” dance is going to be added to the repertoire, I’m not sure if I even want to see another one dance.
You’ve guessed it: Lolo Jones, Tavis Smiley and Alfonso Ribeiro have joined the new season of ABC’s Dancing With the Stars.
Season 19 of the dance competition will come with a few changes. Pro dancer Julianne Hough has been added as a fourth judge, joining regulars Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli.
Smiley, Jones and Ribeiro will compete against Tommy Chong, Janel Parrish, Lea Thompson, Antonio Sabato Jr., Jonathan Bennett, Randy Couture, Michael Waltrip, Betsey Johnson, Bethany Mota and Sadie Robertson.
Jones made her announcement earlier Thursday on Twitter:

And of course the jokes came rolling in:

We all know dance takes a lot of athleticism, so maybe Jones will come out on top. Then there’s Ribeiro, who’s been dancing since he was a kid, so he may have an upper hand on the competition. Now, Smiley? Hopefully he won’t try to discuss politics or pick an argument while doing the tango.
The new season of Dancing With the Stars starts on Monday, Sept. 15.
