Seal, who is prepping for the release of his next studio album, Soul 2, stopped by the Tavis Smiley show to talk about the new album, but he also opened up about his recently reported split with wife Heidi Klum. The singer, who said he felt comfortable opening up on Smiley's show because he respects the way the talk-show host conducts himself, was still wearing his wedding ring.
In the interview, which airs on Friday on PBS, Seal said the breakup will not be nasty because "we're just not those kind of people."
"What one has to do in this situation is to remain civil, to retain one's dignity, to be professional and to understand that we are not the only people on this planet that go through this," he said. The announcement of their divorce came this past weekend.
According to TMZ, Klum was unable to deal with Seal's alleged "hot temper," which close friends of the pair say was affecting their lives and their three children.
