Saying her son had been having problems listening and had been talking back and stealing, a 40-year-old South Carolina woman decided it was time to call the police when she discovered he’d watched pornography on her living room television, the Smoking Gun reports.

The mother, Chavonda Gallman, told the crime-news site that she knows that watching pornography is not illegal but wanted to document her son’s actions because he had been “having behavioral problems,” the New York Daily News reports.

The incident began Tuesday when Gallman returned to her Spartanburg, S.C., home with her 2-year-old daughter, the report says. While her 15-year-old son remained in his bedroom, her daughter turned on the television in the living room, where she and her mother observed sex scenes being played out on an unchanged channel.

Gallman told police that she “immediately turned off the TV,” according to the News, and took her daughter out of the room before calling for help.

No charges were filed in the case, the Daily News notes, but it sounds like the family needs an intervention.
