Russell Simmons Supports Mosque at the Center of Controversy

Hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons has made his opinion about the controversial mosque being built two blocks from Ground Zero abundantly clear. He believes in religious freedom and is using his apartment overlooking the site to express it. The nine windows on the top story of the Liberty Street building have been taken up by large signs. The first six windows use the symbols of world religions to spell out "coexist," starting with an Islamic star and crescent for the "C" and finishing with a Christian cross for the "T." A creative way to express the obvious: Different religions should be able to peacefully coexist in New York City and in this country.
