In today’s “Bitch, Don’t Play With Me” news, rumor has it that Cardi B and Beyoncé are collaborating on a single that could be the next release from Cardi’s upcoming album.
I really want this to be a thing so that The Root staff writer Michael Harriot can shut up once and for all. We have real-life office debates with him about the merits of Cardi B and Beyoncé all the time.
I’m not even a stan for either of these two ladies, but I am so here for them as to almost be in their presence but not really.
Anyway, Monday’s rumor about the supposed collaboration got started after Cardi’s engineer, Ashby, posted several Instagram stories from a studio session he had with the “Bodak Yellow” rapper and Love & Hip Hop star. In one of those stories, his computer screen could be seen, and on it was a track labeled “Cardi B ft. Beyonce Demo Wet.” The caption on the screen read, “Wow this feature is big.”
Yes, yes it is.
Props to Hip Hop-N-More for capturing the screenshot that had Twitter going crazy at the idea Monday afternoon.
Please let it be true, Puerto Rican Jesus. Please let it be true, Lord Beysus.
Do you know how lit this would be if it were?
I didn’t even pay that much attention to “Bodak Yellow” until I saw the video, but that catchy little ditty has had me hooked ever since. I don’t care that she raps like the kid you never want the teacher to ask to read in class. The song is lit, y’all.
And the only thing that could make a Cardi B song even more lit?
A feature from Queen Bey herself.
Let’s pray over this as a family.
