Weeks after tweeting to her millions of Twitter followers, “bonjour @EmmanuelMacron, will France commit to #FundEducation?,” Grammy Award-winning singer Rihanna met Wednesday with recently elected French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace in Paris.
French first lady Brigette Macron welcomed Rihanna at the palace, where the president of France resides, before she was set to speak with the president, the New York Daily News reports.
Rihanna is the head and founder of the Clara Lionel Foundation, a nonprofit organization that focuses on funding education and health programs in poor communities globally.
Rihanna tweeted a thank-you to the Macrons for welcoming her and discussing her education fund, writing, “Thank you Mr. President @EmmanuelMacron and Madame First Lady for the incredible meeting and passion for global and girls education!”
The singer has tweeted out similar statements to other international administrations, including those of Argentina, Germany and Canada.
