This year’s iconic Super Bowl Halftime Show only made Rihanna’s fans, or the Navy as they’re called, hungrier for the moment that the “Work” singer returns with new music. Although she’s been out in public more lately in her typical fabulous fashions and releasing other creative projects, the fans can’t help but ask about some new bops.
This week was Rihanna’s FENTY x PUMA Creeper Phatty sneaker launch party and she stopped on the red carpet to talk to several interviewers about how life is going for her right now with two babies and the future of her music career.
The most commonly asked question is where is the music? And every time she is asked this question it’s the same tune or rather lack thereof. Instead of giving fans a specific date or a peek into what she’s possibly working on in the studio, she stays ambiguous, saving herself from the vitriol of her starved fans by providing false hope.
When stopped by Entertainment Tonight, the makeup and lingerie mogul is bubbly and excited to talk about the new sneakers, but of course, she can’t escape the slight push for any crumb of information about an album. Earlier this year there was an internet rumor that Rihanna was gearing up for a tour after her nostalgic Super Bowl performance, but it has started to fade over time with her introducing another baby.
She addressed the possible tour saying, “We were always gonna go back on tour. I want to do [a] tour when there’s new music. We already know what’s that going to be with the songs I performed last tour.” Her last tour was for her last full album ANTI in 2016. “That was a long time ago and I feel like it’s only fair that my fans get what they’ve been waiting on which is new music. And after that let’s just blow everything up.”
In her other interviews, she seemed to perk up more when talking about releasing more clothing, including an enthusiastic reaction to releasing future children’s clothing lines. Also, her heart is truly set on motherhood, even saying that she’s not done having children. The billionaire is in love with her two sons Riot and RZA and hints at wanting to also raise a daughter.
Even though we all want to see new music from Riri, wouldn’t we rather wait until she actually seems excited to do so? There would be nothing worse than seeing someone release a new project that is clearly only doing it to shut fans up. So, good luck to the Navy, and please don’t get your hopes up. The newest thing you all will probably be getting is more makeup, clothes, and interviews of her gushing about those adorable babies.
