A "bashment" is a term often used in West Indian culture to refer to a lively party. We predict that the brand-new music video for Rihanna's "Work" will be the best multimedia depiction of a bashment this year.
Featuring bad gal Rihanna and her not-so-boo (as far as we know), Drake, the video of her latest single, "Work," had the Internet buzzing after RiRi dropped a sneak peak Friday. The track is the first single from her eighth studio album, Anti, and the teaser had just enough Drizzy to keep fans focused. Within three days, the video, directed by Director X, had amassed nearly 10 million views.
And there's more: The official video seems to be a 2-for-1. Yes, you read correctly. The first half of the video appears to be the "bashment," and the second, "the after-party." The Root staff suggests that "Work" is where "bashment" and "hotline bling" coalesce. “Hotline blashment,” maybe? You be the judge.
