Ride Along cruised to the No. 1 spot at the box office for the second weekend in a row, earning $21.2 million and leaving its competitors the dust, the Daily News reported Sunday.
The Universal Pictures buddy comedy, co-starring Kevin Hart and Ice Cube, zoomed past the week’s lone new release, the monster thriller I, Frankenstein, which opened with just $8.3 million, according to studio estimates, according to the News.
Following Ride Along was the Navy SEAL drama Lone Survivor, which earned $12.6 million in its fifth week, the News reports, giving it a cumulative total of $93.6 million. Listed in third place was the animated squirrel comedy The Nut Job, which collected $12.3 million in its second week.
