Now, this is a moment worth waiting for: Just in time for #ThrowbackThursday, a long-awaited reunion was captured backstage at Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s On the Run II stop in Arlington, TX.
To the best of our knowledge, the two haven’t been spotted together since they acrimoniously parted ways in 2000, but original Destiny’s Child member LeToya Luckett-Walker, now very pregnant with her first child with husband Tommicus Walker, came to support her former bandmate by attending her Tuesday night concert. On Wednesday, she posted a gorgeous pre-show shot of the two embracing with Bey’s hand on Luckett-Walker’s belly, captioning the shot, “Love. ♥️.”
As reported by People, Luckett-Walker, who now has a thriving acting career with a recurrent role on OWN hit Greenleaf, also shared footage of Bey’s performance via an Instagram story, captioning one recording, “Sing Bey ♥️.”
Further demonstrating that it’s all love these days, Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles Lawson, also shared the shot with her own caption:
“Congratulations LeToya you are gonna be the best mommy.”
While it may have been a long time coming, this is the type of love and reconciliation we love to see between black women—especially black women with this caliber of talent. Putting beef to bed becomes us. Maybe *ahem* some other incredibly talented women might take note?
