The Republican members of the House Intelligence Committee announced Monday that they do not believe Russian President Vladimir Putin attempted to help Donald Trump win the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

According to CNN, those same GOP members said they found no evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, and they will be shutting down their investigation at this point.

Keep in mind that the GOP’s stance is the exact opposite of that of basically everyone in the intelligence community.

And this just shows you how hard Republicans are willing to ride for this president. It shows you how willing they are to let his behavior slide. It also shows you that as long as we have a Republican-controlled Congress, we are not going to accomplish anything in this country

This is your biggest reminder of how much more important midterm elections are than presidential elections.

And in case you needed evidence of the partisan division in our nation’s politics, the Democrats on the committee are expected to create their own report that makes the argument that collusion did, in fact, happen.

Do you see the mess we are in?

Republicans are toeing the party line without any regard for how damaging all of this is for the U.S. presidency and our government as a whole.
