It’s been less than a month into the new and revamped season of The View, and there’s already drama between the hosts. According to the Daily Mail, returning co-host Rosie O’Donnell and Whoopi Goldberg had a nasty exchange of words during a commercial break.

During the “Hot Topic” segment on child spanking, O’Donnell became upset after Goldberg cut her off to head to a commercial break. Apparently Goldberg, who is the moderator, was the only one with an earpiece to hear that it was time for a commercial, according to the insider.

As O’Donnell continued to rant during the break about being cut off, sources say, Goldberg tried to call her down: “This isn’t the time for this, Rosie.”

But O’Donnell wouldn’t drop it. “It makes me upset, and I just don’t want to have to go through this,” she complained.

And then all hell broke loose verbally.

“I told you to leave it alone, and you just don’t want to listen. If you want to go there, Rosie, I will, damn it. I’m really sick of your s—t,” Goldberg stated in front of the studio audience. “I said this was not the time, Rosie.”

A rep for The View downplayed the situation, according to New York’s Daily News. “They had a misunderstanding and an exchange. They talked it out and they were back to business as usual,” Lauri Hogan said.

I guess drama makes for great daytime-TV ratings.
