Looks like Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) is not playing about VP Kamala Harris. On Tuesday, the Democrat lawmaker took to X to address presidential candidate and Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.) directly about the disparaging comments Phillips made about Harris.

The upsetting commentary was published in an interview with The Atlantic. Phillips, who has a shot in hell at securing the Democratic presidential nomination, stated that others folks said Harris isn’t right for the role of Vice President.

“I hear from others who know her a lot better than I do that many think she’s not well positioned,” Phillips said. “She is not well prepared, doesn’t have the right disposition and the right competencies to execute that office. It’s pretty clear that she’s not somebody people have faith in,” he also stated referring to her low approval rating.

He did, however, add that he has “enjoyed” interacting with Harris and that he’s “not seen those deficiencies” in his “personal experience.” However, Garcia sees right through Phillips’s cheap tactics.

“Apparently Dean Phillips is floundering so hard that he’s now resorting to attacking Vice-President Harris. He better keep the VP’s name out of his mouth and apologize. No one will support him so he’s going to torch his entire reputation on the way out. Sad to see,” Garcia wrote on X.

Phillips chose to enter the race just last month, which would only hurt Biden’s reelection chances against the person who is most likely to be his opponent: Donald Trump.

The Biden campaign hasn’t really paid any attention to Phillips, with the national Democratic Party refusing to let him debate Biden. In response, Phillips criticized the president’s age in his campaign announcement.

“I think President Biden has done a spectacular job for our country. But it’s not about the past. This is an election about the future.” Phillips knows he won’t win and is doing everything in his power to stay relevant. It truly is sad to see.
