It’s been a while since we heard from n-word slinging Sophia Rosing, ain’t it? Turns out the former University of Kentucky student has given up on trying to prove her innocence in the vicious assault of a fellow Black student back in November of 2022.

The internet was up in flames following the circulation of the video showing freshman Kylah Spring’s disturbing encounter with Rosing in the lobby of a residence hall where Spring was working the front desk. Rosing, who was evidently intoxicated, slammed Spring with punches, kicks and “n—er bitch” insults after being denied access into the dorm. Though being attacked, Spring was seen keeping her composure, trying to protect her body and face. She later told CBS Mornings the decision not to swing back was on purpose.

“I was raised to act a certain way if I encounter a racial attack or assault. But I also was very disheartened that it happened to me while I was working. I really just wanted to make sure I acted appropriately so that I could keep my job, because the script could have been flipped if I had retaliated,” Spring said.

Toward the end of the video, Rosing was also seen throwing punches at the officers who arrived on the scene. As a result, she was charged with first and second degree counts of public intoxication, fourth-degree assault, third-degree assault of a police officer and second-degree disorderly conduct, per The Lexington Herald Leader. Immediately following her arrest, she posted a $10,000 bond… and was also banned from the campus… and also withdrew from the university, the report says.

Rosing wasn’t indicted until 2023 and entered a not guilty plea. Now… it seems she’s changed her mind.

Read more from The Lexington Herald Leader:

Rosing pleaded guilty to four counts of fourth-degree assault, one count of disorderly conduct, and one count of public intoxication, according to her attorney, Fred Peters. She faces 12 months in jail, 100 hours of community service, and a $25 fine, Peters said. The guilty plea came immediately following a mediation, which took place Monday morning.

Peters said at the mediation, “A lot of things got said, apologies were made and we worked it out.” “Her life has been on hold for the past 18 to 20 months,” Peters told the Herald-Leader. “She has had a lot of time to think about what she has done, and she wrote a nice letter of apology.”

*yawn* While Rosing offered a “nice” apology, Spring told WLEX she didn’t believe it was delivered with true remorse.

“I feel that a person that is remorseful takes actions that are moving towards proving they are remorseful,” Spring said. “Not just words.”

Looks like those actions are going to be served behind bars for a year. So long, Sophie.
