Last night model and Real Housewife Ubah Hassan made her red carpet debut with boyfriend, Oliver Dachsel, aka Mr. Connecticut, after she shockingly kept the relationship a secret for most of the Real Housewives of New York City season. The couple attended the American Ballet Theatre Fall Gala in New York.
In the season finale episode of RHONY, Brynn Whitfield yelled in a crowd that she heard that Hassan had a boyfriend who lived in Connecticut. Unfortunately for Whitfield, that left her getting shamed by half of the friend group for sharing that information out loud. Hassan even went as far as threatening (playfully) Whitfield if she said it again, “If you mention Connecticut, I’m going to circumcise you.”
Hassan and Whitfield spent the entire season bonding over their singleness, only for the truth to be that Hassan was dating Dachsel the whole time. In one of the later episodes of the season, all of the married couples went to Swingers, a mini golf establishment and Hassan tagged along. There, Hassan pulled Sai De Silva aside to whisper that she was seeing someone. She told De Silva to keep it a secret. The only thing that the audience knew was that she was dating, no information about the identity of the man.
However, in classic Housewives behavior, De Silva couldn’t bear keeping the secret to herself, going ahead and on-camera telling another castmate, Erin Lichy, that Hassan had a new man in her life. All of the ladies later admitted that once the cameras were off they all discussed Hassan’s love life update, but agreed to not say anything on-camera in order to give Hassan her own time to share her man’s identity with the world. Whitfield yelling Dachsel’s home state, was far more than what Hassan was comfortable with people knowing.
Andy Cohen asked Hassan in the first part of the reunion why she kept the identity of her man a secret and she said that it was because he is a private person due to his career. According to his LinkedIn, Dachsel has been working in investment banking for almost 20 years. The ladies revealed that Daschel is the perfect fit for Hassan, having met him off-camera, with Jessel Taank saying, “He is patient, he is loving. He kind of just looks at her like she is art in a museum.”
