Raven-Symoné’s contrived, provocative opinions are right in line with Don Lemon’s. Maybe the two of them should take their show on the road together. Can you imagine each of them trying to outdo each other? I mean, on Monday, Lemon needed more facts about the student who was dragged across the floor by a burly police officer. And now Raven-Symoné wants to know why the student was on the phone.
During Monday’s “After The View” segment of The View, Raven-Symoné made it a point to discuss Ben Fields, the sheriff’s deputy caught on video dragging the female student.
“He was actually sued for false arrest, excessive force and battery in 2007 after a couple accused him of manhandling them. He has a record, and he’s still hired. But at the same time, get off yo’ phone. You are in school, get off yo’ phone. What you doin’ on Instagram?” Raven-Symoné asked.
“The girl was told multiple times to get off the phone. There’s no right or reason for him to be doing this type of harm; that’s ridiculous,” Raven-Symoné said. “But at the same time, you gotta follow the rules in school. First of all, why are there cellphones in school? This shouldn’t even be a problem to begin with, and he shouldn’t have been acting like that on top of it.”
And this is all alleged because teachers always tell the truth, right?
When was the last time Raven-Symoné was in a school? Nowadays, cellphones are allowed in schools. More often than not, students are allowed to use them outside the classroom. And hell, if cellphones weren’t allowed, how else would we have witnessed the brutal attack at the hands of Fields?
View co-host Paula Faris also chimed in and said that the issue stems from how parents are bringing up their kids nowadays and that teens do not respect authority.
The interesting part is that no one mentioned the fact that here’s a grown-ass man throwing a teen to the floor and dragging her across a room. And from a lot of the previous comments on posts, it’s sad to see that so many people feel this is OK.
Imagine that she was your kid; oh, wait—your kid is perfect and would never not respect authority, right? Or use a cellphone in class? Because he or she was raised by you—a perfect parent?
But imagine, anyway, your child being manhandled by someone twice his or her size while a teacher looked on and did nothing. How long would it take you to run into that school and demand answers?
In any event, the ladies of The View and Lemon would definitely work well together.
