Raven-Symoné Mourns The Death Of Her Younger Brother

Raven-Symoné shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram Monday that her beloved younger brother Blaize Pearman passed away from colon cancer.

A day after the “That’s So Raven” star’s 38th birthday, she shared that while she appreciated fan shoutouts for her special day, Pearman’s death made it all “bittersweet” for her.

“It was a little bittersweet for me to be honest because last month I lost my brother, Blaize,” she told her followers. “He was battling colon cancer for about two years, and he is in a better place now.”

Raven-Symoné shared that her brother passed away in November, and that his birthday fell within days of hers. “I love you, Blaize,” she said. “His birthday is December 16th, and forever will be.”

Fans of the popular former child actress shared their love and condolences for her loss in the comment section of her post.

Although he wasn’t a public figure, Pearman — who was almost exactly six years younger than Raven-Symoné — regularly attended red carpet and other appearances with her, according to PEOPLE. They’re the only children of their parents Lydia Gaulden and Christopher B. Pearman.
