The New York Times is reporting that former Diddy protégé Shyne is now living as an orthodox Jew in Jerusalem. Shyne, who now goes by the name of Moses Levi, spent time in prison and then was deported to Belize, his birthplace, upon his release. The troubled rapper has surfaced in Jerusalem, shuttling between sessions of Talmud study with some of the most religiously stringent rabbis in the city and preparations for a musical comeback. "My entire life screams that I have a Jewish 'neshama'," he said, using the Hebrew word for soul. Being black and Jewish is not new, but the precarious course of this young man's life makes it interesting. Can't wait to hear his new release.
