On Friday night, veteran rapper Scarface was on hand for the taping of the BET Hip Hop Awards in Atlanta to accept the I Am Hip Hop career-achievement award during the annual ceremony, which was held at the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center. Although the night started out on a positive note, the rapper was arrested shortly after accepting his award.
According to the Associated Press, Scarface (né Brad Jordan) was locked up in Georgia’s Fulton County Jail on charges of failure to pay child support. Friday night’s arrest isn’t the first time Scarface has been arrested on similar charges. In 2010 the rapper was jailed in Texas after failing to pay child support in four different cases, totaling over $120,000.
Scarface’s bond was set at $482,190.
