Rapper Lil Boosie had a few words following the shooting that left three cops dead in his hometown of Baton Rouge, La. In a video posted to TMZ, the rapper said Alton Sterling's death played a huge role in the incident that occurred Sunday night.
Boosie spoke about how people are angry about police brutality and with cops getting away with murder.
“It’s a lot of anger down there; a lot of people are angry down there. Everybody I’m talking to when I call home, they mad,” Boosie said. “I don't think it’s going to stop until they really start convicting officers for doing what they do. If they don’t start convicting officers of what they’re doing, it’s just going to keep on escalating.”
With the Baton Rouge shooting the second shooting involving someone targeting police, the rapper may be right. But the rapper says he doesn't condone the killings, either.
"We've been going through a lot of stuff in Baton Rouge for so long, and this was their time to, I guess, to just express their madness," he said. "But I just tell everybody to calm down and let's just try to find a better way. I don't know the better way, but I just say calm down and try to find a better way."
