Racist White Woman Sues Bank of New York Mellon; Claims She Was Fired Because She's a...Racist White Woman

Perhaps there should be a section at Giant Eagle or Whole Foods (or any other supermarket with a bakery) that’s solely devoted to racist pastries. Racist donuts, racist cookies, racist pies, racist cannoli—a one-stop shop for all of your bigoted baked goods. You could even have racist bakers who specialize in flakey racist sweet treats. Because then we’d have the perfect gift to give to people like Lisa Ellis. A racist bakery gift card to buy all of the racist cakes her heart desires. Perhaps even a Groupon.

Ellis, a former analyst at the Bank of New York Mellon, claims in a federal lawsuit that she was fired in July after suggesting on Facebook that the people protesting the shooting death of Antwon Rose II should have been hit by a bus.

From the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:

In a federal race discrimination suit filed last week in Pittsburgh against the bank, Lisa Ellis, who is white, says a black BNY vice president of human resources, Nicole Manns, orchestrated her firing in the wake of the shooting of Antwon Rose II in June.

Ms. Ellis says she was fired July 3 because of her race.

“Manns targeted Ellis because she was a white person who criticized the protesters,” her suit alleges.

The bank said it fired her because she violated its code of conduct and later, when she applied for unemployment, because managers said her performance wasn’t up to par, according to the suit.

Ms. Ellis, who lives in Mt. Lebanon, said both claims are lies.

Protests roiled the region after the June 19 shooting.

On June 30, Ms. Ellis went on her Facebook page to comment on a news story about a Bell Acres councilman charged with reckless driving after he drove through a group of protesters on the North Shore. She wrote: “Total BS. Too bad he didn’t have a bus to plow through.”

Her comment was one of thousands in the same Facebook thread. In the suit, she said Ms. Manns went on social media to urge people to contact BNY’s ethics hotline to have Ms. Ellis fired.

To Ellis’ credit, being a racist white woman is not against the law. If it were, the only way we’d have enough space to put all of them behind bars is if we turned each Lululemon warehouse into a prison, with bars made of mesh, reinforced Lycra, and stale FIT Crunch Bars. She can have her racist cake and eat it too! But while the lawsuit claims that she didn’t violate company policy—which reportedly prohibits racial and sexual harassment in the workplace—going on Facebook to wish for the deaths of multiple peaceful protesters might not be the best way to endear yourself to human resources.

To add insult to caucasity, Ellis claimed her Facebook comments had nothing to do with race. Which 1) is a lie and 2) unfortunately means no racist cakes for her. The first rule of the racist bakery is no pastries for half-assed racists. She’ll just have to eat some broccoli or something with her jug of white tears. Pity.
