R. Kelly has pleaded not guilty on all 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse, via his attorney Steve Greenberg, according to CNN. The Chicago native appeared in court on Monday, just a couple of days after his bond was set at $1 million.

Cook County State’s Attorney Kimberly Foxx confirmed the alleged abuse took place over 12 years. There are four victims involved in the case; three of them were under-aged at the time of the alleged abuse.

As for the $1 million bond, Kels wasn’t able to pay the 10% required to be released from police custody, which amounts to $100,000.

“This is someone who should be wealthy at this stage of his career,” noted Greenberg, citing “mismanagement,” “hangers-on” and “bad deals” as a few reasons why the artist “really doesn’t have any money at this point.”

As The Root’s weekend editor Jay Connor hilariously pointed out, “seems like he’s not ready.”

Yeah, here’s how I’ll sleep at night knowing he has to remain right where the fuck he is, only being able to leave the jailhouse for his various court appearances.
