The country has been united in one thing: fixing the economy. We can't agree on how, but everyone knows that it needs to be done. That is, of course, until Prop 8 was overturned. Now people on both sides of the issue are gearing up for a fight that will undoubtedly lead to the Supreme Court. Recently confirmed U.S. Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan will have to deal with this case at some point during her tenure. President Barack Obama, who has been straddling the fence — "I'm against gay marriage but I'm for civil unions" — may actually have to take a stand. Yes, we know he actually did support overturning Prop 8, but sometimes he sounds as if he's talking out the side of his neck on this issue (in our best Larry Blackmon of Cameo voice). We think the country should stay focused on the economy and, dare we say it again, stay out of grown folks' business.
