Hip-hop producer Scott Storch, along with members of his entourage, was robbed at gunpoint after putting in time during a graveyard shift at Platinum Studios near Times Square at around 6:45 a.m. on Tuesday, according to the Wall Street Journal

The group had entered a livery cab and was waiting for a second one for additional passengers when they were approached by two men in their mid-20s, the official said.

The suspects allegedly robbed Mr. Storch of a $50,000 diamond necklace and a Rolex watch also valued at $50,000.

The suspects also took a briefcase containing more than $4,000 in cash that belonged to Victor Diego, 32, who was with Storch, and took the cab driver's keys, the official said.

No injuries were reported, and the robbery is currently under investigation.

Although his sound is not as popular as it once was, Storch was one of the biggest producers in the early 2000s. He got his start as the keyboardist for The Roots and then later moved on to apprentice with Dr. Dre. He produced tracks for everyone from Beyoncé to Lil Wayne.
