“Cardi don’t need more press,” Cardi B rapped in her last solo single, aptly named “Press.” But where Cardi goes, the press inevitably follows; so for an impromptu on-the-street appearance in Paris this past weekend, the fashion-loving rapper once again gave them something to talk about.

At least, we think it was Cardi B...

The Hustlers co-star showed off her experimental side, wearing a singular floral print in a head-to-toe ensemble by designer Richard Quinn—including coat, skirt, boots, headscarf, gloves and...face mask?

“What’s poppin’, Baby? I heard y’all bitches was missing me at New York Fashion Week,” Cardi said as she preened and posed with the Eiffel Tower as her backdrop. “I’m here to serve it to y’all motherfuckers, and I’m here to serve it to you cold,” she added, hitting her best “sashay, Shanté” as she crossed the crowded street. “You bitches could really never.”

We believe that’s what one calls “Clout.”

But Cardi’s right; we couldn’t—if only for the fact that that outfit looks claustrophobic as hell, in addition to resembling that wallpaper our grandmother had in the guest bathroom when we were growing up (or was it the bedspread in the guestroom?) In fact, this allover print is giving us vague memories of a pregnant Kim Kardashian at the 2013 Met Gala, down to the gloves.

And yes, we are well aware that this is high fashion, and that Quinn is a designer having a definite moment, having been seen on Zendaya, Lizzo, Winnie Harlow, Adut Akech and recently, on Kardashian sibling and supermodel Kendall Jenner on the 2019 Emmys red carpet and stage.

And yes, even on Beyoncé.

But the real reason we will never attempt this look? It’s a freaking safety hazard, as Cardi acknowledged while crossing the street and telling her security, “Make sure a car don’t hit me—because a bitch can’t see.”

There are a lot of things we’ll do for fashion. Voluntarily obscuring our peripheral vision—or vision, altogether—ain’t one of them.

Of course, Paris Fashion Week didn’t stop there (in fact, it’s still going), so we can’t, either. Before the weekend was out, Cardi gave us two more looks to compare, contrast and contemplate...and all we’ve come up with is that the woman loves to play dress-up.

But who doesn’t?
