The president talks frequently to a circle of spiritual advisers. He did so, by phone, on his 49th birthday while flying on Air Force One. One pastor he speaks to often is evangelical Joel Hunter, who also advised President George W. Bush. Hunter says the downside of the president’s private religious observance is that people speculate. Perhaps those who question Obama’s faith should ask for guidance in their own house of worship?
