Rachel Rose Hartman of Yahoo News is reporting that President Barack Obama made light of the "Birther" debate during his comments at a Democratic fundraiser in Boston. He joked about the fact that people don't believe that he was born in Hawaii. She reports that the president stated the following:
"I think there's nothing — there's no weakness in us trying to reach out and seeing if we can find common ground. Now, there are going to be times where we can't. I was born in Hawaii, what can I say? I mean, I just … I can't change those facts."
The comment provoked laughter from the live audience but not from the commenters on the post, most of whom support the Birther theory that the president cannot produce a birth certificate, medical records or school transcripts. Really? With all that's going on in this country and the world, folks are still stuck on conspiracies.
