President Barack Obama can add children's-book author to his growing list of credentials. Obama has penned Of Thee I Sing: A Letter to My Daughters, an illustrated children's book that will be released Nov. 16. The publication completes a three-book, $1.9 million deal Obama signed with Random House while he was still an Illinois senator, including his earlier titles, Dreams From My Father and The Audacity of Hope. Obama's relatives — including his half brother, half sister and brother-in-law — also have books coming out. In addition, Duke University is publishing his mother's doctoral dissertation posthumously. President Obama will also write the foreword to Nelson Mandela's private diaries, Conversations With Myself. We can hear the critics now, saying he's spending time writing books instead of running the country. To this, we'd like to offer that the president is running the country and writing books, which means he's really hard at work.
