So, we are all aware of the history-making members of black Greek-letter organizations: Lena Horne (Delta Sigma Theta), Langston Hughes (Omega Psi Phi), Martin Luther King Jr. (Alpha Phi Alpha), Coretta Scott King (Alpha Kappa Alpha). And the list goes on. Many members of these fraternities and sororities have been trailblazers—breaking boundaries and making history that black Americans have benefited from. Their founders would be proud, no doubt.

Did you know that two of the Braxton sisters were Zetas? Yep, this was news to us, too. As you embark on #SummerWhileBlack, perhaps attending a national convention—AKAs have their boulé in Atlanta this year; Omegas have their grand conclave in Las Vegas and so on—you just might bump into a few celebrities and other notables who you might not have known are Greek.
