Tilfert Vaughn, 54, of Phoenix, has been charged with following a woman he had seen at a bar home and raping her at knifepoint while a male friend lay next to her “frozen in fear.”

According to court documents seen by AZ Central, on Nov. 5, the 27-year-old woman awoke to find a bathroom light on. She knew that it should have been turned off, so she went to investigate and found Vaughn in her apartment, naked and hiding behind a bathroom door, holding a large serrated knife, the report said.

According to the documents, Vaughn walked the woman back into the room, where he held the knife to her throat and raped her. Court documents allege that afterward Vaughn said, “Now you have a baby. Bless it and take care of it,” AZ Central reports.

According to the newspaper, a 30-year-old man who had been sleeping next to the woman suffered severe wounds to his fingers after he initially tried to fight off the attacker. The man’s injuries required surgery to repair nerve damage. Court records note that both victims feared Vaughn would kill them if they did not comply with his demands.
