There are many ways to get “Happy,” and Grammy Award-winning artist Pharrell, during an interview with media mogul Oprah Winfrey, tearfully showed the fans of his hit how much he appreciates their support.
While he and Oprah were discussing the hit on Oprah Prime, his host decided to show him a clip of people all over the world—from Slovakia, Portugal and Taiwan to Detroit, Dakar, Malawi and more—jamming to the addictive song.
Pharrell’s eyes started to redden, and when the video finally finished, he placed his hand over his eyes and rubbed at the tears.
“Makes me cry, too!” Oprah said.
“It’s overwhelming because it’s like, I love what I do and I just appreciate the fact that … people have believed in me for so long that I can make it to this point to feel that,” he said, his voice breaking.
