Paul Ryan Was a Savage Before Trump Became President; Now He’s a Lapdog

The newly leaked tape of House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) talking real tough before Vladimir TrumPutin became president reminds me of the time I got caught shooting dice with the older boys in my neighborhood. I couldn’t have been older than 10, and before my mom caught me, I was in the alley behind my house cussing up a storm and doing older-guy stuff. When my mom walked back there, I froze. That whole summer I tried to do all kinds of extra chores to get off punishment. Eventually she relented.

That fully describes Ryan and TrumPutin’s relationship since the president took office. In a newly leaked tape recorded in October, shortly after the release of the now-infamous Access Hollywood recording from 2005 in which Donald Trump admitted that he sexually assaults women by grabbing them by the pussy, Ryan was in the alley cussing.

During a conference call a month before the election, Ryan can be heard telling other House Republicans that he would not “defend Donald Trump—not now, not in the future,” according to a recording released by Breitbart News on Monday.

Disclaimer: Breitbart is a horrible right-wing rag, but you have to admire its level of petty. This is Blac Chyna having a baby with Rob Kardashian after the little pure, white Jenner-Kardashian stole Tyga from her level of petty. The site has been gunning for Ryan for some time, and even went so far as to label his health-care-reform plan “Obamacare 2.0.”

“His comments are not anywhere in keeping with our party’s principles and values,” Ryan said during the Oct. 10 call. “There are basically two things that I want to make really clear, as for myself as your speaker. I am not going to defend Donald Trump—not now, not in the future.”

Ryan even went so far as to disinvite Trump from a GOP event in his home district in October, and pledged not to campaign on his behalf. In the leaked audio, Ryan can be heard giving GOP members one of those ultimatums you’d give a spouse when you want to make it sound like he or she has free will but you are secretly going to hate your spouse for not siding with you. He can literally be heard saying, “Do what you think is best and do what you feel you need to do,” but we all know what that means.

Ryan added: “I’m not going to be campaigning with [Trump]. I’m going to spend the next 28 days working hard with all of our members to get re-elected because we need a check on Hillary Clinton if she wins the presidency.”

Now Ryan and Trump are besties.

“The world is well-aware of this history,” Brendan Buck, a spokesman for the House speaker, told Breitbart. “And obviously a lot has happened since then.”

Buck added: “As everyone knows, they came together toward the end of the campaign and the speaker vocally supported him.”
