One good turn deserves another.
And since Vice President Mike Pence was recently shamed by a pastor—actually, the man has no shame, so—since Pence was recently called out by a pastor, it’s only right that a pastor get a verbal drubbing of his own—just to show that all God’s children do not have traveling shoes (or something).
So this so-called pastor, Mark Burns, who was embarrassed by a CNN reporter last year, and who claimed a certain fraternity but was shown to be lying about it, tried to come for Joy-Ann Reid on Saturday after she destroyed his weak arguments on her show.
This fraud had the nerve to ask Reid why she doesn’t move back to Haiti, since she’s so concerned about Haitian immigrants, ostensibly because Reid excoriated remarks by Donald Trump calling certain nations, including Haiti, “shithole” countries.
Reid responded in a video via Facebook with a singing song of a read—a mix of emotion, Bible and history they don’t teach you in school.
In all, a verbal ass whuppin’ of epic proportions.
Reid, a child of immigrants, immediately dug into Burns, hitting him with the Bible from the rip. “Sir, you are a pastor. And in the Bible, you love to quote the Bible [shade], so let me quote you John 3:17.” Reid went on to quote the passage. And then she went HAM on his ignorant ass about what Haitian Americans have given this very country.
Haitians fought in the Revolutionary War. There were Haitians who helped us to free ourselves from the British and become independent. Haitians overthrew the great Napoleonic army to make possible the Louisiana Purchase, which would not have happened but for that revolution and France’s defeat. Haitians built and created the culture of New Orleans. ... They are a part of the fabric of this country, and, Sir, African Americans include Haitian Americans.
She ended on a biblical verse, reminding the good pastor that he needed to “love his neighbor as himself.”
Your arm’s obviously too short to box with Joy, son.
