Leave it to Oprah! Her new cable network, OWN, which had a big opening weekend, is now expected to meet a major milestone a year early. The chief financial officer at Discovery Communications, which owns half of the network, told the New York Times that it's expected to turn a profit this year based on "ad acceptance and good performance." Before the network launched, the expectation was that OWN would become profitable in 2012 or 2013. Going into business with Oprah Winfrey is just good business.
