Venus Williams is quite the degree collector.

In addition to being one of the world's highest-ranked tennis players, Williams earned her associate degree in fashion design back in 2007, and earlier this month, she earned her Bachelor of Science in business administration at Indiana University East.

Talk about being a student-athlete.

Williams explained that she began taking courses in the online program because she wanted to learn how to run her businesses better.

"It's been an incredible journey," Williams said, according to the school's press statement. "I've learned so much. It was always my dream to have a business degree, and I ended up going to art school so many times, but in the back of my head, I felt like I needed the tools to be a better leader, to be a better planner, to be better at all of the things I wanted to do in my businesses because I'm so hands-on."

Williams picked up her diploma at a graduation ceremony on campus Aug. 14. She then headed to Ohio, where she intended to play in the Western & Southern Open tennis tournament but withdrew at the last minute because of a viral illness.

Kudos to Williams for making it seem doable for working professionals to go back to school to get the skills they need to make their careers even better.
