During a classified briefing Tuesday, the CIA informed Congress that Osama bin Laden was found with 500 euros — $740 – sewn into his clothing, along with two phone numbers, when he was killed.

The Obama administration believes that bin Laden was prepared to escape the compound at any moment if alerted to an impending attack.

While bin Laden appeared to be ready to flee at any moment, he was not armed during the U.S.-forces attack on the compound. One source believes that bin Laden was confident that his security would suffice and "his network was strong enough he'd get a heads-up" before any U.S. attack on him. The White House has yet to comment on the findings discussed in the briefing.
