If you had your hopes set on a 2020 Oprah Winfrey presidential run, it’s not happening.
During an interview on the Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast, Winfrey spoke about running for office, and put to rest rumors that it’s a possibility.
“I will never run for public office,” Winfrey said. “That’s a pretty definitive thing.”
Winfrey was asked if she thought she could beat Donald Trump if he went for a second term, and she was even more adamant about not running.
“I don’t know. I don’t know the answer to that,” she said. “But I will never have to know the answer to that because I will never run for public office.”
In 2015, Trump actually thought his winning ticket would involve Winfrey, but she shut that down quickly when she noted that she was a staunch Hillary Clinton supporter.
I guess we’re stuck with the Rock in 2020?
