Love has no limits for one Muskogee, Okla., couple. Like, seriously. What would you do if you were being arrested on six felony warrants on your 35th birthday? Well, Brandon Thompson decided, screw it all, and proposed to his girlfriend Leandria Keith.
Police bodycam video captured the moment between the couple on the Fourth of July, a moment that caught even officers off guard.
“When the other officer told me he was gonna propose, I think my initial response was, ‘Are you kidding me?’” Lincoln Anderson, a Muskogee Police Department spokesman, told News on 6.
“‘Oh my gosh, is he serious?’” the bride-to-be added. “But I knew I was gonna say yes. Like, I love him a lot. We go through our ups and downs. I guess it’s like an unconditional love, you know?”
The shocked officers allowed Thompson to get down on one knee (with his arms cuffed behind his back) and propose.

For Leandria Keith, it was a dream come true.
“Amazing, very amazing. It feels great. I know that he loves me and I love him and we can get through anything together,” Keith said.
Anderson said that he hopes Thompson learns a valuable lesson through the arrest and proposal.
“Maybe by him taking this step to propose to her so they can get married, he can take a step to getting his life together and putting these warrants behind him and improving the life of his kids and his future wife,” Anderson said.
According to NBC New York, Thompson’s arrest is related to charges including possession of a firearm after a felony conviction, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and failure to appear in court.
“There’s all kinds of situations out here; everybody makes choices every day. I love him. I’m ready to spend the rest of my life with him,” Keith said.
