The Associated Press is reporting that President Barack Obama has not given up hope on his defeated jobs bill. President Obama will urge Congress to get to work this week on passing pieces of his larger, now-defunct jobs bill during a three-day bus tour through North Carolina and Virginia, two Southern states that could be critical to his re-election campaign.
The two-state bus tour kicks off on Monday, where the president will campaign for passage of parts of the jobs bill and re-election. The president has promised to tour the country to pitch his plans to solve unemployment. He has chosen to make his pitches in key states in the 2012 presidential election.
The president may as well kill two birds with one stone. He needs to pitch his piece-by-piece jobs bill and campaign for re-election, so why not do it at the same time? Besides, if he launched two separate tours, the naysayers would criticize him for wasting time and money.
