Dolly Ragoo discovered Monday that the door to her home had been splashed with tomato sauce and had the n-word scrawled on it, the New York Daily News reports.
Ragoo, who lives in Queens, N.Y., is of Indian descent, and after finding the vandalism on her door, she was terrified.
“This called me [n—ger] because I’m from Indian descent," she said. "They sprayed red sauce all over my door. It looked like human blood."
According to the Daily News, Ragoo has not returned to her job at the Taxi & Limousine Commission since the incident and says she is definitely a victim of a hate crime.
"I hope they catch whoever did this," she said. "I'm scared for my life."
This isn't the first time something like this has happened to Ragoo. She complained once before about a time when human feces and toilet paper were glued to her door.
It's still unclear who is responsible for the vandalism. Police say they are investigating.
