Shacara McLaurin, 23, of Brooklyn, N.Y., got into a shouting match with an elderly Donald Trump supporter Thursday that resulted in her allegedly pushing the senior citizen to the ground and getting arrested, the New York Daily News reports.
The argument started over who should have won the presidential election and then escalated, according to the report.
The Trump supporter was taken to the hospital, having sustained a gash on the back of his head during the incident.
According to the Daily News, McLaurin, who became an anti-bullying activist after being physically assaulted by a group of girls in 2011, was charged with felony and misdemeanor assault shortly after being taken into custody. A police source said that she was yelling, "Black lives matter," to which the man responded, "All lives matter."
