Desmond Muller, a 24-year-old Bronx, N.Y., man, was fatally shot after getting into an argument outside a deli, the New York Daily News reports.
At 2:55 p.m. Monday, Muller got into an argument with a group of men across the street from his apartment, authorities say. The deli was located on Union Avenue near East 163rd Street in the Morrisania section of New York City's Bronx borough.
According to the Daily News, one of the men pulled out a gun and shot Muller twice in the side of the chest as he walked away.
A passerby tried to perform CPR on Muller but could not save his life.
"He was on the ground bleeding," said Edwin Mitchell, a retired New York City Sanitation Department worker. "I got out of the car and said, ‘Get up, Des, get up!’ He was gone."
Muller was rushed to Lincoln Medical Center, where he died soon after.
