On Wednesday, at around 9:15 p.m., Dontay Gordon, 17, along with a 21-year-old friend, were on College Ave. near East 170th Street in the Claremont Village section of New York City's Bronx borough when they were shot at by someone driving by in a livery cab, the New York Daily News reports.

Dontay later died at Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx and, unfortunately, became the second member of his family to be killed by gun violence over a span of six years. His older brother, Durand Gordon Jr., was shot to death in April 2010.

"I have one more son left,” said their father. “It's just hard because [Dontay] was going to be somebody. He was a dancer and he was rapping."

According to the Daily News, Dontay's friend was also taken to Lincoln Hospital, where he remained in critical condition. He commented that the gunshots came out of nowhere.

Dontay, who was going to be a senior at Renaissance High School in the fall, was found around the corner from his home, just as his brother had been six years earlier.
