Rapper and actor Method Man has reportedly been involved in a shocking assault. According to The New York Post, law enforcement officials confirmed that the incident took place at Crunch Fitness gym on Staten Island.
Method Man, 53, whose real name is Clifford Smith, allegedly punched a man in the face a total of seven times “with a closed fist” sources told the outlet.
The Post stated that the alleged assault stemmed from a relationship the alleged 28-year-old victim had with Method Man’s daughter from over a decade ago. The reported victim claimed that he was experiencing pain to his face and felt dizzy, but declined medical attention at the scene.
Furthermore, sources shared that though a complaint report was filed with the New York Police Department, Method Man was not arrested.
The emcee’s career spans decades as both a fixture in hip-hop as well as a film star. Method Man initially rose to fame with Wu-Tang Clan’s 1993 debut album, “Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers).” He would go on to team up with Redman to form hip-hop duo Method Man & Redman.
The heart throb is also a record producer and actor. He has appeared in “Power Book II: Ghost,” “Garden State” and “Keanu.” He shares three children with his wife, Tamika: Shakuan, Raekwon and Cheyenne.
“I believe it’s so important for kids to have both a male and female presence in the home,” Method Man has said according to PEOPLE.
“My kids have always seen their mother and father together. That’s why my 26-year-old [son Shakuan] is already married—because he grew up seeing a strong, loving relationship between his parents. He was raised in light and love, and that’s incredibly important.”
