There will be no friending, poking, commenting or status updates for Sasha and Malia for as long as they live at 1600 Pennsylvania, and maybe longer.
On NBC’s Today show this morning, first lady Michelle Obama explained that the restriction has to do with Secret Service security issues (and, we would imagine, the potential for anything they posted to be used against their dad during campaign season).
But she added that she's "not a big fan of young kids having Facebook" anyway. Her reasoning: "It's not something they need."

Her approach sounds entirely reasonable, but we’re guessing Sasha, 9, and Malia, 12, don't "like" it too much.
