NLE Choppa is feeling the heat after his photoshoot in Playgirl magazine. While he thought he looked pretty good in the spread, some people on social media felt differently.
Over the weekend, when the magazine was made available, fans reacted to the provocative shoot, where the Memphis rapper shows everything off. Check it out below:
While Choppa seems to be confident in his skin, some on social media weren’t cool with what the “Shotta” flow rapper was allegedly doing.
One user on X wrote in a quote tweet, “the gay baiting is seriously out of control now.”
While thousands of people liked the posts, other people disagreed with the sentiment. One person wrote in response, “I don’t mind; he’s honest and actually supports the community. Let’s keep it a buck, if you’re a man with an onlyfans, your primary audience is gay ni***s. At least he acknowledges and respects the girls that pay his bills.”
Another person commented, “Why do y’all be thinking this is gay baiting? Yall take shit the wrong way.”
After a while, the man himself caught wind of the harsh criticism, writing in response, “Never been gay baiting. It’s me showing freedom. Anything now a days is called gay or it’s baiting. In reality I’m comfortable enough, and have the upmost confidence in how good God designed me head to toe. Call me what you want but a straight man comfortable in my skin, I AM.”
He later expanded on his response, saying in a video, “I really don’t care, and I think that’s the problem. I think I don’t care so much that it’s like a disconnect. It’s like since I don’t care so much and I know who I am so much, I just feel like narratives get painted because I don’t care so much. So I just wanted to clear the narrative first. Do not say that I’m a gay baiter because I’m comfortable enough to show off the perfection that God has orchestrated over my physical, my mental, my spiritual and even my emotions.”
Choppa continued, “I am not a gay baiter because I post a selfie in the mirror showing off how beautiful I am. I am not a gay baiter if I post a picture showing off how much God has blessed me from below the waist with something that got women going crazy. I am not a gay baiter because in my Playgirl shoot I showed a piece of my a**. I can’t show a piece of my own ass without being called a name? It’s my a**!”
These gay-baiting allegations aren’t new for Choppa. He engaged in provocative photoshoots last year and was criticized for his lyrics on the 2024 song “Slut Me Out 2,” where he says, “If I was a bad b***h, I’d wanna f**k me too/I’d wanna suck me too.”
