The ex-girlfriend of an NFL player has been arrested in Braselton, Ga., on charges of slashing him and breaking his new girlfriend’s arm with a bat in a bizarre series of attacks, according to Atlanta’s WSB-TV.

Police allege that Erika Palmer tried to hide out at a hotel in Gwinnett County, Ga., after breaking into the home of Indianapolis Colts linebacker Erik Walden as many as three times, the report says.

“There was a knife involved and there was a gun at first when we got there,” Assistant Police Chief Lou Solis with the Braselton Police Department told the television station.

Palmer allegedly had access to a gun, knife and bat when she confronted Walden and his new girlfriend for the third time March 14. Walden and Palmer have two children together.

“She ends up going to his house, breaks into the back door, makes entry,” Solis told the TV station.

Police say that when Walden and his new girlfriend walked into the home, Palmer was sitting on a couch with his gun and the bat. Police believe she ran into the woods with Walden’s Rolex watch and phone before officers arrived. She returned after officers left the scene.

Later, police tracked Palmer’s cellphone to a hotel, where she was arrested. She was being held without bail on two counts each of aggravated assault, family violence aggravated assault, theft by taking and first-degree burglary, according to ESPN.

Walden, who was treated at a hospital and released, is in good condition, and the slash to an arm did not cause any major damage, ESPN reported. ESPN says that Walden, who has been in the NFL for seven years, had 82 tackles and nine sacks over the past two seasons with the Colts.
